Kelvin Philip, of Shirley, was charged with second-degree murder, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office announced this week. Philip is accused of allegedly strangling the mother of his child, Tatiana Walton, and leaving her on a Brooklyn doorstep.

Walton was reportedly dropped at approximately 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, and was discovered by police investigators when there was a 911 call for an unconscious building outside the Red Hook Houses on Lorraine Street.

According to police, Walton, 27, was found conscious, with a faint pulse outside the building. She was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead later that night.

At the time of her death, Walton was reportedly pregnant with the couple’s second child. They also have a 2-year-old son together.

The investigation into the fatal incident is ongoing.
